Ready to learn the game everyone is talking about? Join Amanda Haber of Mahj with Amanda for a fun and beginner-friendly introduction to American Mahjong.
In this hands-on class, you'll learn:
• The Mahjong tiles and suits
• How to read the National Mahjong League card
• The deal and setup
• The Charleston
• Basic gameplay and strategy
No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided during class. Whether you're coming with friends or flying solo, you'll leave with the confidence to sit down at a Mahjong table and start playing.

Mahjong 103 is designed for players who are ready to build confidence, strengthen their strategy, and play more independently. I will be there for the guided experience, but experienced players are invited to attend for a fun night out!
The second half of the evening will be dedicated to open play, giving you the chance to put your skills into action in a fun, supportive environment alongside fellow mahjers.

Recommended for players who have completed Mahjong 101 and 102 or have equivalent Mahjong experience.

Mahj with Amanda blends a true love of the game with nearly two decades of experience in education. With advanced degrees in leadership and professional development, Amanda brings a thoughtful, structured approach to teaching—grounded in real pedagogy, but delivered in a way that feels fun, social, and easy to follow.
Each lesson session is designed to break the game down clearly, scaffold learning, and build confidence from the very first tile—so you’re not just playing, you actually get it.
In order to fully get a handle on the game- I recommend between 2 and 3 sessions. The first two will be instructionally based while the third is a guided play.
